I'm all about stress ?

Question:

I haven't had any nicotine for 2 days. I notice how any little thing has potential to cause stress in me. To deal with stress I normally shift into a different state of mind. That's how I've lived since as far back as I can remember. Not always in the 'stress' state of mind, but most hours and minutes of my days I've spent in that state of mind. Existence is not at it's best, limited in scope, when I'm in the 'stress' state of mind. But it is a state of mind that enables me to get things accomplished. Oh, by the way, NICOTINE puts me into that state of mind instantly. It's kind of a distorted, unrelaxed state of mind. I'm only living part way when I'm in that state of mind. I used that state of mind since way way back. I could be angry at myself for wasting so much time in that state of mind. But that kind of anger is sick anger that I've learned to leave alone.

I've never been able to stay 'stopped smoking' for the long term. I believe the key is to learn to control my state of mind - no matter what. I'm not sure if I can handle the 'stress' state of mind without nicotine. Not sure if I ever will be able to. Also not sure if I can accomplish the tasks of day-to-day living without using the 'stress' state of mind. Which is to say that I'm not sure how I'm going to manage (long term) without nicotine.

Answer:
The only stress that is relieved by nicotine, is the stress caused by the need FOR nicotine.

Here is all the luck I have (((((((((mr correct))))))))))))) now what you need to do is believe in yourself. you don't need to think long term you need to think of today then after that day is up think of today. it really is one day at a time. the days add up to weeks then months then years all by itself, you just need to do today. :) lynn Four months, three weeks, two days, 12 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds. 4914 cigarettes not smoked, saving $1,984.84. Life saved: 2 weeks, 3 days, 1 hour, 30 minutes.

Absolutely, and that's why the last sickarette that we ever smoked is what is feeding our crave today.. Smoking one today will only fuel the next crave... it's better to starve them out..
