Question:
I am a male teenager.
I was prescribed doxycycline for my acne.
together with the tetracycline i had from doctors, i took the
antibiotics for 2 years.
since then ,I had several medical problems....
-white spots on arms
-2 cases of jock itch and itch on scrotum
-oral thrush (white/yellow coating on tongue)
-digestion problems ( i am always underweight)
-a bad smell in body (body odour?)
A doctor told me it might be a intestinal fungus infection ,as the
prolong
use of tetracycline had upset the "good bacteria" balance in the gut.
My questions are - how true is it , and what are the possible
remedies?
also, i am troubled by the body odour ; does stress produce an
offensive smell in the body?
any remedies?
Answer:
If you are meticulous about personal hygiene and make efforts to eat a
balanced diet at every meal, and still have these problems, then you
might find some local herbalist/health food store and ask them for a
few recommendations. I and some others here have recently become much
more respectful of some herbal alternatives.
I can only comment on the underlined bit. The doctor is correct in saying
that. A good thing for you to do would be to eat a 100/200 grams tub of *live*
(bio) yoghurt with every main meal. The bacteria in the yoghurt will
successfully replace the missing (dead) gut bacteria.
