Question:
My question to all of you is:
Should I make such a major change right now at this point? I am
thinking that it will help me in putting FM into "remission"
But, I have also read articles and such, that at this time, I should
not do anything to upset my lifestyle, eg, change jobs, get a divorce,
etc. etc...
Any opinions?

You know what? Life happens anyway. No matter how carefully you plan things.
So even if you are trying to be careful to never upset the apple cart, the
apple cart could turn over all on its own.
But, that is not what you asked. I would go for the less stressful job. For
me it makes all the difference.
However, I don't know if it would put your FM into "remission." And if that is
the ~only~ reason you would do it, you may be disappointed. And the stress of
changing jobs may affect you more than you know. Especially if you did not go
into remission.
But you said, great pay, great benefits, no overtime, less stressful -- sound
like a good mix to me.
I made such a decision 2 years ago (after 16 years working for the Gov't)
and was laid-off 6 months ago (and jobless since). If you're pretty sure
that laid-back doesn't mean "expendable", than I'd find out everything I
could and weigh your options. One of your main concerns is that you retain
health insurance for you (and your family if you have one), if you are
currently taking prescriptions and plan to continue. I found this out
firsthand.
I'm sure you've probably already gone through this stuff in your mind, but
in case you hadn't (I hadn't, back then), thought I'd add my 2-cents.
Your situation and even your profession are different from mine. I
supported the illfated ION at Sprint. So it's possible, maybe even
probable, that you could make the change unscathed.
Sounds like it's just what you need! I'd go for it... Stress is a
major contributor to FMS, so less stress less FMS, good money, layed
back, what more could you ask for?
I'd act pro-actively...make changes while you can, possibly stave off the
progression of FMS...
Remain in control of fibro and you'll lessen its control over you.
