hardness and flow stress ?

Question:

I remember the hardness values of metals are almost the same as the stress at strain=8%. But I can't fine the reference I'v read. Does anyone knows that where I can find that information ? Thank you very much.

Answer:
Probably in a paper by Liu and J. Gurland from Brown University in a series on deformation and fracture of spheroidized steels. But I don't have the exact citation handy from about 15-25 years ago.

It appears that you cite a rule of thumb. I'd rather stick to conversion tables Hardness -> Yield Strenght (which are still inaccurate, but probably better than what you have in mind...)
