Question:
I find that the need to urinate frequently coincides with times during
the day when I feel more mental fatigue -- that is, when I'm feeling
well, the bladder feels normal. Has anyone heard of such a correlation
or connection? Any other possible diagnoses other than depression?
I also find that I perspire more when I'm not feeling well (i.e.,
depressed). Any thoughts?
I'm taking Paxil and Effexor. I understand that these meds might cause
more perspiration but I don't understand why it would only occur when
I'm feeling worse.
Answer:
It seems reasonable to me that you would have perspiration changes and renal
function changes (peeing a lot) when you aren't feeling well. You would
probably have a hard time getting a straight answer from a doctor about
precisely why this occurs, but sweating and renal function are both mediated by
adrenal function, which also produces stress hormones... cortisol, adrenalin
and a slew of others that the adrenal glands pump out when we are stressed.
Depression seems to have a link to chronic stress and some research has
indicated chronic elevated cortisol levels with some people's depression.
Definitely yes.. I am borderline hypoglycemic by testa.. and actually more than
borderline by my reactions. I get the sweats when my sugar level drops. I know
that the excessive urination is connected with diabetes and I deal with that
too altho I am on the other end of the spectrum, supposedly, with hypoglycemia.
